Victor Cornea/Andrea Pellegrino and Alexandru Jecan/Bogdan Pavel duos on Thursday progressed to the for the semifinals of the men's doubles at the Lisboa Belem Open challenger tennis tournament, prize money EUR 145,250.
Cornea and Italian Pellegrino beat Spanin's Mario Mansilla Diez/Bruno Pujol Navarro 6-3 6-2, in 64 minutes.
Jecan and Pavel defeated Denys Molchanov (Ukraine)/Michael Vrbensky (Czech Republic) 7-6 (7/1) 7-6 (11/9), in an hour and 41 minutes. The Romanians saved a set point in the tiebreak of the second set.
The winning pairs won EUR 2,520 each and 36 ATP doubles points.
In the semis, Cornea and his partner will face Jecan and Pavel for the first time.
