The country's energy consumption was higher by 5.3 pct in the first ten months of this year, compared to the same period last year, reaching 46.1 TWh, according to a statement by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The biggest increase was in the case of consumption by the population, 7.4 pct, while consumption in the economy increased by 4.6 pct. The own technological consumption of power plants also increased by 4.7 pct.
The national electricity production increased by 7.2 pct, to 49.1 TWh. The largest increase in production was in hydropower plants - 17.5 pct and in classical thermal power plants - 11.4 pct.
Renewable energy production decreased by 10.2 pct in the case of wind farms and by 1 pct in the case of photovoltaic parks.
Electricity exports increased by 22.2 pct, while imports by only 1.9 percent. AGERPRES
