The Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) on Friday launched the IT platform for Local Action Groups (LAGs), part of the commitment assumed by AFIR to modernise and streamline access to European funds dedicated to rural development.
According to an AFIR press release, starting with June 20, 2025, the platform can be accessed at https://gal.afir.ro, becoming the sole and official working channel for LAGs implementing projects financed through the intervention DR-36 LEADER - Local development placed under the responsibility of the community, within the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027.
"This digital platform, designed and developed by the IT department of AFIR, without any additional budgetary effort, represents an essential tool for the efficient, transparent and real-time management of local projects, offering modern functionalities that simplify administrative processes and increase the operational capacity of LAGs. Through this initiative, AFIR continues the broad process of digitalisation of public services, supporting the transformation of the way in which rural communities access and use available funding," said the head of AFIR, Adrian Chesnoiu.
The platform allows for the complete management of the implementation stages of Local Development Strategies, from submitting funding applications to monitoring projects, in a secure and intuitive space.
