The Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) has ordered a check of the way in which the revenues of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) were derived and the legality of its expenses to start on September 1, AEP Chairman Toni Grebla reported on Friday.
He told AGERPRES that the decision was taken following reports received by AEP and media articles about AUR's activities.
Grebla added that the check will last approximately two weeks.
"If expenses are in accordance with the provisions of the law, it is fine (...). All income derive in ways not permitted by the law, all expenses outside the legal framework, are confiscated and a fine applied for every violation of the law," said Grebla.
He added that the fine can reach up to RON 50,000.
