The secretary of state with Romania's Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) Alexandru Victor Micula, the national coordinator of Romania in the '16+1' format, in Riga emphasised the importance Romania is giving to boosting cooperation within the '16+1' Forum and accomplishing the projects agreed upon in November 2015 in Suzhou, the People's Republic of China, says a release by the MAE sent to agerpres on Friday.

The participants in the forum were informed on the operationalisation in the next period of the Dialogue and Co-operation Centre in Energy (CDCDE) that is to operate in co-ordination with the Romanian Energy Centre (www.crenerg.org).

"Romania is committed to organise and host this co-operation dialogue centre in energy considering also the co-operation potential in energy between Romania and China," reads the release.

Micula reiterated Romania's interest in the 'One Belt, One Road' Chinese initiative, a future-oriented development project, mentioning the possible connection with the '16+1' format due to the geographic position of the Central and Eastern European countries on the Chinese initiative's road.

In Riga, on Friday, Alexandru Victor Micula participated in the reunion of national coordinators of the China-Central, Eastern Europe co-operation Forum (16+1) on the preparation of the agenda, documents and co-operation projects that are to be addressed at the Summit at Prime Ministers' level on 5-6 November 2016 in Riga, Latvia.
