Secretary of State with Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE) Dan Neculaescu carried out on Monday bilateral consultations with Secretary of State for Bilateral and Multilateral Relations with the Republic of Moldova's Foreign Affairs Ministry Tatiana Molcean. The discussions that took place at the MAE headquarters tackled priority topics aimed at the consolidation and development of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, as well as the European agenda of this country.
State Secretary Neculaescu reconfirmed Romania's firm support for the advancement of the European path of the Republic of Moldova and underscored our country's interest for the operationalisation of the strategic bilateral projects, especially those related to energy interconnection. Also discussed were the priorities of the upcoming stage, with an emphasis on the political dialogue and the implementation of other projects and the cooperation initiative at sectorial level, the MAE reveals.Moreover, the Romanian diplomat "emphasised the importance of continuing the structural reforms circumscribed in the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova. He referred to the necessity of ensuring the modernisation and reform processes in the Republic of Molodova, meant to strengthen the democratic mechanisms and evoked the importance of further developing the relationship of the Republic of Moldova with the European Union," the quoted source mentions.
In her turn, State Secretary Tatiana Molcean thanked for Romania's consistent support in materialising the strategic objectives of the Republic of Moldova's European agenda.
The two officials made a thorough exchange of assessment regarding the regional situation and cooperation within the multilateral formats and agreed to ensure a continuity of this dialog format at a secretary of state level of the two Foreign Affairs Ministries, the MAE also mentions.
