The Stefan cel Mare Airport in Suceava will have a third terminal, the president of the Suceava County Council (CJ), Gheorghe Soldan announced on Monday.

According to him, the new terminal, which will be the largest so far, with an area of 11,000 square meters, is to be launched in tender this month.

"This month we are launching the tender for the design and construction of the third terminal of the Stefan cel Mare Suceava Airport, the largest so far, with an area of approximately 11,000 square meters, three times larger than the existing terminals. Today we have a crowded airport with limited space, but the important thing is that we have started, since the first year of our mandate, the largest modernization in the history of our airport. With the investments started, we hope to convince airlines to open new flights from Suceava to European destinations desired by Suceava residents", the head of the Suceava City Council said.

Suceava Stefan cel Mare Airport ended 2025 with a total traffic of 769,608 passengers, up 3.06% compared to the previous year, and with 7,070 aircraft movements, up 2.37% compared to 2024.

The average aircraft occupancy rate was approximately 90%, indicators that show that the routes operated from Suceava are in high demand.

In December 2025, new routes to Italy, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Cyprus were introduced.
