Young Romanian tennis player Anamaria Federica Oana won the title at the ITF tournament in Antalya (W15) on Sunday, which offered total prizes of 15,000 dollars, after defeating another young Romanian, Diana-Ioana Simionescu, with a symmetrical score of 6-3, 6-3 in the final.
Oana (aged 18, WTA's 758th) had previously won a W15 title this year in Campulung Muscel and had not competed on the circuit since then.
For Simionescu (aged 18, WTA's 1,019th) this was her first ITF singles final.
In the first round Oana beat Alexandra Irina Anghel 6-1, 6-3, in the round of 16 she eliminated Russian Maria Shmeleva 6-3, 6-4, in the quarter-finals she defeated Polish player Marcelina Podlinska in three sets 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, and in the semi-finals she beat Swedish player Fanny Norin 6-1, 4-6, 6-0.
