Five Romanian tennis players qualified on Thursday for the quarterfinals of the ITF Otopeni tournament (M15), which has a total prize pool of 15,000 US dollars.
Filip Cristian Jianu will face Stefan Adrian Andreescu for a place in the semifinals, and the other Romanians who will play in the quarterfinals are Stefan Palosi, Dan Alexandru Tomescu and Gabi Adrian Boitan.
Radu David Turcanu, who recently impressed in the Davis Cup, was surprisingly defeated in the round of 16 by Dutchman Stijn Paardekooper, who came from the qualifiers, 6-3, 6-3.
