Tennis player Ana Bogdan qualifies for 2nd round of WTA 125 tournament in Antalya

Romanian tennis player Ana Bogdan qualified on Wednesday for the 2nd round of the WTA 125 tournament in Antalya, with total prizes of 115,000 dollars, by defeating Turkish Ipek Oz 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.

Ana Bogdan (32 years old, no. 160 WTA), who has not played for more than a month since the Transylvania Open, won a marathon match of three hours and 14 minutes.

The Romanian had also defeated Oz (25 years old, no. 251 WTA) in their first match, in 2019, in the second round of the qualifiers in Istanbul, 6-0, 6-2.

Ana Bogdan secured a cheque for 2,000 dollars and 15 WTA points, and in the round of 16 she will meet the Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle (25 years old, 97 WTA), the fifth seed.

The tournament also featured Anca Todoni, designated the sixth seed, but she withdrew. Todoni had won her first WTA 125 tournament in Antalya on Sunday.
