Stefan Adrian Andreescu (CSM Unirea Slobozia) and Simona Ogescu (CSA Steaua) won the singles titles on Sunday at the National Singles Tennis Championships for seniors in Slobozia.
In the men's final, Andreescu, the main seed, defeated second seed Mihai Razvan Marinescu (TC Bucuresti) 7-6 (7/5), 6-2. The podium was completed by Cezar Papoe (CS Targoviste), who won 7-5, 6-1 against Mihai Alexandru Coman (CSA Steaua) in the small final.
Ogescu, the main seed, defeated Andreea Diana Soare (CS Medgidia) 6-1, 6-0 in the women's singles final. Ana Mari Brotea (Tennis Team Bucuresti) ranked third after a 6-2, 6-3 win in the small final against Daria Maria Marioara (CSA Steaua).
In the mixed doubles event, the pair made up of Luca-Stefan Prunescu-Nita (CS Junior)/Simona Gabriela Rosu (CS Elite) defeated Eduard Gabriel Coreisa (Sportul Studentesc)/Alexia Ioana Tatu (CS Arc Pro Tenis) 6-4, 6-3 in the final.
Mihai Alexandru Coman (CSA Steaua) and Andreea Maria Coman (CSM Craiova) completed the podium after the pair made up of Luca Adrian Jinar (ACS Panalim)/Sonia Erika Butuc-Cerchez (CSA Steaua) did not show up for the small final.
Total prizes amounted to approximately 10,000 euros, according to the Romanian Tennis Federation.
