Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, third seeded, qualified on Sunday for the fourth round of the WTA Miami Open tournament, with total prizes worth 6,993,450 USD, after she defeated 6-3, 6-0 Estonian Anett Kontaveit.
Halep (aged 25), WTA's 5th, obtained her clearest victory this year, in only 56 minutes, in front of an opponent coming from the qualifications (aged 21, WTA's 112th).
Simona Halep secured a 77,265-USD cheque and 120 WTA points and in the fourth round she will play against Australian Samantha Stosur, who beat Chinese Shuai Peng, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
