The National Public Health Institute reports 48 new COVID-19 cases between April 28 and May 4

The National Public Health Institute (INSP) has reported that between April 28 and May 4, 48 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were reported in Romania, down 32% from the previous week.

According to INSP, 19 of the new cases were in reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Between April 28 and May 4, one death was reported.

So far, 69,259 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.

As of this week, 3,583,682 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were recorded in the country.

Last week, 272 RT-PCR tests and 4,160 rapid antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate was 1.18%.

So far, 14,049,394 RT-PCR tests and 15,346,202 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. AGERPRES
