There are 43 files for healthcare treatment abroad worth approximately RON 13 million lei on the waiting list, Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete said on Tuesday, adding that the Ministry of Health will receive an additional RON 20 million.

"Teamwork and collaboration always make the difference! Today, the programme of healthcare treatments abroad has a waiting list of 43 files worth approximately RON 13 million. They cover 30 adults and 13 children - from the youngest patient of 1 year and 8 months, to the oldest of 74 years. Most requests are for oncological treatments but also for rare diseases, genetic diseases or transplants," Rogobete wrote in a social media post, Agerpres.

According to him, the Ministry of Health will receive an additional RON 20 million to cover such costs.

"Following fair and transparent discussions with the Minister of Finance - whom I thank for its promptness - on Thursday, the Ministry of Health will receive an additional RON 20 million to cover these expenses. That means the chance at life, continuity in treatments and hope for every patient and family in difficulty. Trust is good for us. A united team saves lives," added Rogobete.
