Romanian athletes won three new medals, all silver, on Wednesday at the 2024 EWF European Youth ad U15 Championships in Thessaloniki, Greece, according to the Facebook page of the Romanian Weightlifting Federation.
All three medals were won by Cristina Ioana Ionita, of the Under-15, in the 71 kg category, with 69 kg in the snatch, 89 kg in the clean and jerk and 158 kg in total.
In the Under-17, Lucretia Gabriela Ordace (55 kg category) ranked 7th in the snatch (70 kg), 8th in the clean and jerk (86 kg) and 8th in total (156 kg).
The Romanian delegation has won 17 medals so far, including 4 gold, 10 silver and 3 bronze. In the U15, we have 3-6-2, and in the U17, 1-4-1.
Romania is participating with 19 athletes in the European Youth Championships, 11 in the Under-15 and 8 i the Youth category.
