Three Romanian teams advance to finals at European Youth Table Tennis Championships

Three Romanian teams have advanced to finals at the European Youth Table Tennis Championships in Malmo, Sweden, securing medals in the Under-19 boys' team, Under-19 girls' team and Under-15 boys' team events.

In the U19 boys' team, Romania will play Germany in the final.

In the semifinals, Romania beat France 3-1, with Chirita scoring two more victories, 3-0 (13-11, 16-14, 11-3) against Nathan Lam and 3-2 (11-8, 10-12, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8) against Flavien Coton. The other point was brought by Darius Movileanu, victorious against Antoine Noirault 3-2 (11-4, 11-7, 8-11, 9-11, 11-4). Andrei Istrate lost to Flavien Coton, 0-3 (9-11, 5-11, 7-11).

In the girls' team competition, Romania will face France in the final.

 



In the semifinals, Romania defeated Germany 3-1, with Bianca Mei-Rosu scoring two wins, 3-0 (11-3, 11-7, 14-12) against Lorena Morsch and 3-1 (11-9, 11-3, 5-11, 11-7) against Mia Griesel. Andrea Teglas defeated Eireen Kalaitzidou 3-1 (11-9, 11-8, 7-11, 11-7), and Alesia Sferlea lost to Mia Griesel, 1-3 (12-10, 0-11, 4-11, 10-12).

In the U15 boys' team competition, Romania will play Italy in the final.

 



In the semifinals, Romania won 3-1 against the Czech Republic. Robert Istrate sealed the victory, after 3-0 (11-5, 12-10, 11-6) against Jakub Kabelka, 3-0 (11-7, 11-3, 11-8) against Jan Skalda, and 3-1 (11-7, 13-11, 9-11, 11-3) against Jan Skalda/Jakub Kabelka, paired up with Mihai Nagy. In another match, Nagy lost to Jan Skalda, 0-3 (4-11, 4-11, 8-11).
