Approximately 100 persons welcomed with applause and tricolour flags Tibi Useriu, the winner of the 6633 Arctic Ultra marathon, upon his arrival, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, on the "Avram Iancu" International Airport in Cluj.

"There were more competitors, I had to bring something extra, to use the experience of last year, although it didn't help me a lot. It was a very cold competition. I had some problems, from this type of competition one doesn't expect to come back healthy, I had some minor problems, some frostbite that started in the third day, but in the end I could handle them and manage to reach the end. The most difficult moment was the start, when I realized what was coming in the next kilometers. There were tough moments and I realized that the more prepared I go, the more difficult it gets, I believe I have a survivor instinct and usually I'm spontaneous and solve my problems without even being prepared. This time I was more prepared and I realized that I had more problems than last year," Tiberiu Useriu stated.

He said that he will be recovering in a specialized clinic in Cluj-Napoca, afterwards he will participate in a competition in the desert, adding that now it's too early to decide upon participating in next year's edition of the Arctic marathon.

"I will never forget the entire competition, all the days and nights that have passed away. At a certain point I know that the northern lights appeared and I got off the sleigh and made a coffee and gazed at it until I started to freeze from the cold. It was one of those moments I savored, the last time it was harder to enjoy it because I didn't have such a large advance, but this time I indulged myself," Tibi Useriu also said.

Upon arriving on the airport in Cluj, he took photos with part of those waiting for him and received cakes, nut meringues with chocolate cream and coffee from a young girl.

Tibi Useriu was also welcomed by four young people from Cluj who ran from the Union Square to the airport, on a distance of 8.5 kilometers, as a sign of support and appreciation for the winner of the Arctic marathon.
