The infotrip will end with a recap of the region's tourism potential, from rural tourism and personalized experiences to cultural heritage, gastronomy and natural attractions.

"This infotrip is the fourth this year, organized by ANAT, after the Prahova - Brasov, Maramures and Romanian Coast infotrips. All Bucharesters think they know Bucharest, but in reality it is not like that. About Ilfov County even more. So, we have two days of history, architecture, religion and culture with Damian Anfile, an extraordinary thing for young travel agents", declared ANAT president, Alin Burcea, quoted in an ANAT press release sent to AGERPRES.

According to the National Institute of Statistics, Bucharest Municipality received 2,005,391 tourists last year, compared to 1,833,855 tourists in 2023, while Ilfov County received 205,966 tourists in 2024, compared to 208,442 tourists in 2023. However, statistical data show an increase in the number of foreign tourists, with Ilfov receiving 88,866 foreigners last year compared to 83,008 in 2023. The capital was visited by 1,033,467 foreign tourists last year compared to 871,897 in 2023.

Romania recorded, last year, 2,412,810 foreign tourists, of which 1,122,333 tourists were accommodated in Bucharest - Ilfov, which shows that the region held a share of 46.5% of the total foreign tourists who visited Romania in 2024.

"Ilfov has exceptional natural areas and many unique tourist and cultural attractions. Ilfov is also the youngest county in the European Union and has the highest population growth rate in the EU. It is a county in full development, this trend being shown by statistical data. Our role and obligation, at the level of the County Council, together with the partner mayors, is to identify, first of all, the tourist attractions that are not yet sufficiently highlighted", emphasized the vice-president of the Ilfov County Council, Stefan Rădulescu.

According to ANAT, the infotrip represents a premiere for the Bucharest-Ilfov region and a concrete step towards the development of incoming tourism.

"We want partner tourism agencies to rediscover the Capital and Ilfov County as a complex destination, combining historical heritage with modernity, traditions with authentic experiences. If Bucharest is the cultural, historical and economic heart of the country, Ilfov County represents its garden, the place where tradition, heritage, nature and authentic experiences perfectly complement the Capital's offer. We strongly believe that Bucharest and Ilfov can become together a competitive international attraction", added the president of the Bucharest-Ilfov Regional Council of ANAT, Mihaela Patentasu.
