Two concerts of interwar Romanian music will be organized by the ProCultArt Association in Paris, on September 28, at the Theatre du Blanc Mesnil (Auditorium Hall), and in Berlin, on October 11, at the Atrium Hall.

"Following the footsteps of Maria Tanase, Grigoras Dinicu and George Boulanger, interwar Romanian music will be heard again in Paris and Berlin through the cultural project "Stories from Old Bucharest - Romanian Interwar Roots", carried out by the ProCultArt Association between September and October 2025 and financed by the Department for Romanians Everywhere," informs the ProCultArt Association, in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

Soloists will be Miruna Ionescu and Valentin Albesteanu, accompanied by the Taraful de Oras (Valentin Cucu - piano, Nicolae Petrea - double bass, Daniel Mustaţea - accordion) music band, with pianist Ramona Horvath to feature a special guest in the Paris concert.

The programme includes songs composed by Ion Vasilescu, Nicolae Kirculescu, Elly Roman, Gherase Dendrino, Grigoras Dinicu, Georges Boulanger, Fritz Kreisler.

On the same occasion, the multimedia exhibition "Maria Tanase - A Century of Happy Songs" will be inaugurated, signed by art historian Cristina Enasescu, which will bring together musical works, photographs, journal pages, posters and articles.

The project continues the initiative to safeguard the heritage of Romanian light music and cafe-concert from the interwar period launched by the president of the ProCultArt Association, actress Miruna Ionescu, and violinist Valentin Albesteanu, initiators of the Digital Library of Romanian Light Music - the interwar period and of the International Festival of Interwar Music.
