The refugees that are coming in through Sighetu Marmatiei and Halmeu Border Crossing Points (PTF) are still supported with food, tea, coffee and water, as well as accommodation, said the administrator of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Bishopric Cathedral in Baia Mare, priest Casian Filip.
"The actions to support refugees, particularly mothers, children and the elderly, are continuing. (...) They all receive our support, of the volunteers in the two border crossing points in Maramures and Satu Mare counties. Mothers and children who are not traveling further, meaning to another destination, temporarily benefit from accommodation, warm food, clothes, personal hygiene products and other goods of first necessity for the children. Part of them start the asylum process. (...) As long as mothers and children are in the care of a monastery, social center or at the homes of some persons, they receive all the necessary items and we are trying as much as possible to attenuate the shock of leaving homes, families in Ukraine. Each of those of us involved is fully aware that mothers, children or the elderly require support, encouragement, relief," said, on Wednesday, for AGERPRES, Fr. Casian Filip.
A week ago, nearly 50 mothers with children were accommodated at a social center subordinated to the Orthodox Bishopric of Maramures and Satmar in the city of Sighetu Marmatiei, a town in the vicinity of the state border with Ukraine. AGERPRES
