Volunteers collect one thousand tonnes of waste from watercourses on National Cleanup Day
One thousand tonnes of waste have been collected by volunteers under the "Let's Do It, Romania!" project on the National Cleanup Day, according to a social media post published on Monday by the Romanian Waters National Administration (ANAR).
"We Did It again! 2,000 employees, over 100 watercourses, 200 reservoirs, 1,000 tonnes of waste - this is our bottom line on the National Cleanup Day, together with the volunteers under the 'Let's Do It, Romania !' project. Television sets, tyres, clothing and footwear, construction materials, everything that people no longer needed around their houses were found by our workmates, collected in bags and transported to the landfills. Today we have cleaner watercourses! But until when? The answer depends on each of us," the post says.
