The Romania vs. Denmark 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier scheduled for March 26 on the Arena Cluj stadium of Cluj-Napoca (21:45 hrs) is a sellout, the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) announced on Friday on its official website.
''All tickets for the Romania vs. Denmark match of March 26, to be played at the Cluj Arena starting at 21:45, in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup Russia have been purchased or booked. However, we invite you to keep an eye on the sites bilete.frf.ro and bilete.ro. If certain orders are canceled, the tickets might go on sale on these websites," FRF said.
Arena Cluj is a 30,201-capacity stadium and on Wednesday, just one hour after the start of online sales, more than 15,000 tickets had already been sold. FRF did not mention the number of tickets on sale, stating that the legal security measures have been taken into account.
A ticket in the short end cost 35 lei, one in stands I and II was 100 lei, a VIP sector seat (3rd floor) cost 500 lei, and a 4th floor VIP seat was 400 lei.
Sales were limited at four tickets per person; the tickets are nominal, with the holder's name, date and place of birth written on each of them. If the holder changes the tickets can be exchanged (with the new name) at the stadium's box office on March 25 (between 10:00 and 19:00 hrs) and on March 26 (between 10.00 and 21:45 hrs).
Romania's national team amassed five points after four matches played in the 2018 World Championship qualifiers and is ranked fourth in Group E. In the event of a defeat in the match at home against Denmark, Romania's qualification chances would fall to almost nil. The nine group winners qualify directly while the eight best group runners-up will contest round two for a slot at 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.
