The Ministry of Investments and European Projects (MIPE) has launched two calls for projects in public consultation aimed at supporting young people leaving the special protection system, as well as the elderly who need home care, the relevant minister, Marcel Bolos announced on Thursday.

Thus, for young people leaving the special protection system, the allocated budget is over 50 million euros, the money being directed towards modernized sheltered housing, counseling, mentoring and psychosocial support, vocational training courses and support for integration into the labor market, as well as access to medical services to build an independent life.

A budget of 110 million euros will be allocated for the elderly who need home care. They will benefit from support for daily activities, from personal hygiene, feeding and mobility, to help with shopping, housekeeping and travel, along with complementary services such as medical care, rehabilitation, occupational therapy and social or legal counseling, so that they can maintain their independence and quality of life.

"Now, through the Social Inclusion and Dignity Program 2021-2027, we are launching two calls for projects in public consultation that bring concrete support to children and young people leaving the special protection system, as well as to the elderly who need home care. For many of the young people who leave the protection system, the moment when they have to start a life on their own is one of uncertainty and fear. Without support, without a home, without a job, they end up being exposed to poverty and marginalization. At the same time, our seniors often face loneliness, illness and the lack of adequate care services. For them, we want to expand home care services, train care givers and offer them a dignified, safe life," Marcel Bolos wrote on his Facebook account.
