A number of 16,981 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 are hospitalized in specialized health facilities, including 490 children, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Monday.
According to the cited source, 1,632 patients, 34 children included, are in intensive care.
In Romania, 115,146 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus infection are in isolation at home and 15,270 are in institutional isolation.
Also, 60,383 people are in quarantine at home and 251 people are in institutionalized quarantine
As many as 209 deaths in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been reported in the last 24 hours, thus taking the death toll to 39,629, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.
No deaths prior to the reference range are reported.
According to GCS, it is about 96 men and 113 women.
Of the 209 deaths, five were recorded in the age category 30 - 39 years, seven in the age category 40 - 49 years, 26 in the age category 50 - 59 years, 53 in the age category 60 - 69 years, 68 in the age category 70 - 79 years and 50 in the age category over 80 years.
The GCS says that 192 of the deaths were recorded in patients who had comorbidities, and 17 of the deaths were not recorded comorbidities.
Out of the total 209 deceased patients, 193 were unvaccinated against COVID while 16 were vaccinated. The vaccinated deceased patients were between the ages of 54 and 84, and 14 of them had comorbidites, while two had no declared comorbidity, Agerpres informs.
