Over 3,000 visionaries, from founders and investors to global technology leaders, took part in this year's edition of the How to Web technology event, organized on October 1 and 2, in Bucharest, the organizers announced in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
"This year, the How to Web conference brought together, for two days, a community of over 3,000 visionaries, from founders and investors to global technology leaders. The event was the most important meeting point of the tech ecosystem in Eastern Europe. On the four dedicated stages: Build & Grow Stage, Focus Stage, Startup Stage and Broadcast Room, over 150 international speakers from top companies such as OpenAI, Amazon, Google, IBM, Booking.com, Alibaba Cloud and Canva, as well as investment funds exclusively present in Eastern Europe, such as Northzone, Creandum, Seedcamp and 20VC, took to the stage," the press release states.
According to the cited source, with more than 2,000 facilitated meetings and over 200 international investors present, How to Web has become a connecting context between Eastern European startup founders and global capital. The presence of investors who contributed to the growth of companies such as UiPath, Revolut, Spotify, Bolt and ElevenLabs underlines the global recognition of the potential in the region.
In addition, approximately 550 early-stage startups had access to a series of programs and formats designed to provide them with opportunities to grow and connect with potential investors. The Spotlight competition program, mentoring sessions and bootcamps dedicated to fundraising and sales, and the Dealflow matchmaking platform transformed the conference into a launch pad for the next generation of successful startups in the region.
"The way the How to Web conference has developed over the years has gone beyond the role of a simple event. We all contribute, organizers, participants, partners, to a phenomenon that keeps this region alive and brings together all the representatives capable of building a more optimistic future through technology. This year, this role was further strengthened, through regional delegations of startups present, reports launched during the conference, events dedicated to the academic, political or journalistic environment and leading global technology companies, which were present both on stage and in the audience," said Monica Zara, director of the specialized conference, in a statement.
This year, the winning startup is a Slovenian team, LynxCraft, an algorithmic construction platform that automates the design and supply chain for home construction. The Spotlight winner's prizes include a 180,000 investment from GapMinder Ventures and V7 Capital, 25,000 in Infobip credits, 100,000 in OVHCloud credits, and a 15,000 visitor spot at the European Startup Embassy in San Francisco.
This year's edition of the event also brought together delegations of startups from the Republic of Moldova, Serbia and Slovenia.
The How to Web Conference is the most important event dedicated to startups and technology in Eastern Europe. Held annually in Bucharest, it brings together professionals from the fields of technology, founders, investors, to promote innovation, facilitate investments and stimulate the growth of the regional technology ecosystem.
