The National Institute of Public Health reports that in the week of April 18-24, 49.1pct of the COVID cases in Romania were recorded in Bucharest, Cluj, Timis, Brasov and Iasi.
According to the Weekly Surveillance Report, 44.4pct of confirmed cases were reported in unvaccinated individuals.
Of those who were vaccinated but still got ill, 50pct were either immediately after vaccination or more than six months after the last dose, Agerpres.ro informs.
Also, 37.5pct of all COVID deaths were recorded in Bucharest, Braila, Dolj, Hunedoara and Prahova, and 72.4pct of all the people who died were unvaccinated.
INSP states that since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and until now, 86.4pct of all the deaths have been recorded in people over 60 years of age. 54.6pct of deaths were in men.
As many as 93.6pct of those who died had at least one associated comorbidity.
