A total of 764 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were recorded during the period October 20-26, a 65.6% decrease compared to the previous week, the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) reported on Tuesday, told Agerpres.
Of the new cases recorded in the past week, 222 were reinfected patients, who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection or a previous reinfection.
According to the INSP, seven deaths were reported among people with COVID-19, all of whom had comorbidities.
During the same period, 392 RT-PCR tests and 9,462 rapid antigen tests were performed.
The positivity rate was 7.7%, down 2.9% from the previous week.
