A total of 84 deaths - 39 men and 45 women - have been reported in patients infected with the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Thursday.
19 deaths reported occurred prior to the reference interval, in October and November 2021.
Of the 84 deaths, three were in the age category 40-49 years, five in the age category 50-59 years, 25 in the age category 60-69 years, 28 in the age category 70-79 years and 23 in the age category over 80 years.
According to the GCS, 78 deaths were reported in patients who had comorbidities, and six patients who died had no comorbidities.
Out of a total of 84 persons who died, 72 were unvaccinated and 12 were vaccinated against COVID. The 12 vaccinated deceased patients ranged in age from 60-69 years and over 80 years. 11 of the vaccinated patients who died had comorbidities, while one patient had none reported.
From the beginning of the pandemic until Thursday, 58,019 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.
