The president of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), Kelemen Hunor, believes that there are real chances of reconciliation between the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the National Liberal Party (PNL) within the governing coalition, emphasizing that "until the last moment, everything is possible".
Asked in Parliament whether he sees a reconciliation possible between the PNL, led by Ilie Bolojan, and the PSD, led by Sorin Grindeanu, in the context of a possible political crisis after April 20, Kelemen Hunor replied: "Categorically. So until the last moment, everything is possible".
"You realize that in 2023, when PSD and PNL, together with Iohannis, removed us from government, I sat at the table until the last moment looking for solutions. So until the last moment there is hope, the chance that a compromise solution will be found, because this coalition must move forward," the UDMR leader emphasized.
Kelemen Hunor said that he has not yet been summoned by President Nicusor Dan for discussions with the coalition leaders. "No, I was not notified. I heard the statements from Timisoara, if I am not mistaken, of President Dan, but I was not contacted, I was not invited, so I don't know the program in this regard. We'll see. When someone contacts us, we answer yes", said Kelemen Hunor.
