The Regional Directorate of Roads and Bridges (DRDP) Buzau announced that from 13 to 17 October, the reception committee will be convened, a preliminary step ahead of the A7 motorway opening between Bucharest and Spataru village, after structural tests were carried out on the bridge at kilometre 38, Mizil - Pietroasele section, on Monday evening.

According to the DRDP Buzau, the tests aimed to assess the bridge's structure in preparation for the opening of road traffic.

"A load test was carried out on the first lane of the bridge at kilometre 38, part of Section 2 of the A7 motorway, Mizil - Pietroasele section. The test aimed to assess the bridge's structural behaviour under controlled loads, in accordance with reception technical standards. On the second lane, the final eight joint straps will be installed, after which load tests will also be conducted there," according to the DRDP Buzau.

In the coming period, quality tests of the welds will be carried out using non-destructive control methods to certify the structural integrity.

"If all tests confirm compliance, the reception committee will be convened between 13 and 17 October to prepare for the opening of traffic. Following the reception, traffic will be allowed on the A7 motorway from Bucharest to Spataru, through the connection with DN 2 [National Road]," the quoted source stated.

Mizil - Pietroasele Section 2 spans a distance of 28.35 kilometres.
