The Romanian Energy Suppliers Association (AFEER) and the Energy Traders Europe have concluded a partnership to promote coherent and sustainable policies on wholesale energy markets at the European level.
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Monday, the partnership aims to enhance the exchange of information, provide mutual support for initiatives of shared interest and develop unified positions before national and European decision-makers.
Jerome Le Page, Chair of the Electricity Committee of the Energy Traders Europe, stated that after years of cooperation, this represents a new step in the partnership between the two organizations and a proof of the interest of European electricity and natural gas traders in advancing on the Romanian market.
The Energy Traders Europe is the voice of Europe's energy traders, representing 170 member companies from across the continent, working to promote the role of energy traders in the European energy market.
"This collaboration marks an important stage in our long-standing relationship with the Energy Traders Europe. By joining forces, we reaffirm our shared objective of promoting a fair, predictable and transparent energy market. Together, we will continue to advocate for balanced regulations and for the integration of Romania's energy sector into the wider European market," AFEER President Laurentiu Urluescu said.
Founded in 2006, the AFEER includes 44 members in the energy market and 17 in the natural gas market, licensed and active suppliers and traders, providing energy to both individual consumers and all categories of economic agents in Romania, with a market share of around 85 percent of final electricity and natural gas consumption.
