Romania ranked first in the EU this August in terms of accessed funding under the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), Minister of Agriculture Petre Daea said Wednesday, after Prime Minister Mihai Tudose congratulated him on his performance in the field. "I am starting by congratulating again Minister Daea, who once again has taken Europe by surprise by attracting funds (...)," Tudose said at the beginning of a government meeting, inviting Daea to give a short presentation on the subject.
"Romania this August, was first in terms of funding accessed under the EAGF. Let me inform you, Mr Prime Minister and the Government, that the access rate is currently 99.03 percent," Daea said. "That means you have taken over 1.8 billion euros more," remarked Tudose.
"We are forecasting now and in the analysis we made last night for the NRDP, that we are moving to 3.2 billion euros in agriculture funds, meaning EAGF and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)," said Daea.
