The actor Marius Manole joins the Ambassador for HOME campaign and donates the costume he wore in the first play he performed in, announced on Wednesday the Hope and Homes for Children Romania organization.

"Marius Manole is the fourth ambassador of the Hope and Homes for Children Foundation to join the Ambassador for HOME campaign. When we build A HOME, we build A PERSON. As part of this initiative, Marius Manole is donating the costume he wore during his stage debut in the play Heart of a Dog," stated the NGO.

This symbolic gesture is accompanied by a call for solidarity, with the actor encouraging people to donate to help raise the 30,000 EUR needed to create a better future for 11 children with moderate and severe special needs.

"For me, the theater is the place where I first felt that I had a HOME. The costume I am donating carries the imprint of that beginning, and I hope it will inspire as many people as possible to provide a HOME for children who are in great need of one. Your donation is not just a material contribution but a chance to change lives and destinies," Marius Manole was quoted as saying in the press release sent to AGERPRES.

Anyone who wishes to support the campaign can do so by donating through the official Hope and Homes for Children platform. Every donation is a chance to transform children's lives and an opportunity to win the prize offered by the ambassador.

As a result of the donations made, one of the donors supporting the cause will be selected through a draw to receive the costume donated by the actor, a symbol of new beginnings and a passion for art.

The Ambassador for HOME campaign aims to raise the funds needed to close the last residential care center in Sector 5 of Bucharest. Hope and Homes for Children plans to build a safe and welcoming family home for 11 children with special needs. The total amount required for the project is 450,000 EUR, which will be invested in creating an environment tailored to the children's needs.

In just 30 days since its launch, the campaign has already raised 385,000 EUR through the efforts of the first three ambassadors: David Popovici, Amalia Enache, and Mihai Morar. World swimming champion David Popovici donated his award ceremony gear from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, inspiring thousands to contribute. Journalist and TV presenter Amalia Enache offered a special piece of jewelry, featuring a diamond and pearl, as a prize for a lucky donor. Meanwhile, journalist and radio host Mihai Morar contributed a unique podcast experience, attracting both individual donors and corporate support.

Over its 26 years of activity, Hope and Homes for Children Romania has helped 43,400 children stay safely with their parents or extended families, preventing institutionalisation through its Family Separation Prevention Programme. Since 1998, the foundation has closed 72 foster homes and, in partnership with its supporters, has developed 128 family homes, moving 7,400 children out of orphanages and reintegrating 2,000 into their biological or extended families.
