The United States is looking for investors from all over the world and Romanian companies are welcome to develop and create jobs on the largest market in the world, the US Ambassador in Bucharest, Hans Klemm said on Tuesday at the launch conference of the Smart Start USA program according to Agerpres.
If we now asked my President, he would say that, of all my economic powers, the most important thing is to encourage Romanians to consider investing in the US and to create jobs in the US, to strengthen the relations between the two countries, Klemm said.
He reminded that one of the ways in which the US is seeking to attract investors from all over the world is the Select USA conference, held in Washington once a year, bringing together development agencies, officials and entrepreneurs to promote the opportunities and the support foreign firms find on the American market.
This year, the conference took place in June and brought together over 3,000 participants from 62 countries. Four people from Romania participated two years ago, in 2016. Last year, 30 Romanians went, including Ilan Laufer, former former minister for business, commerce and entrepreneurship, and more than 50 representatives from Romania have participated this year, being the fifth-largest delegation and the largest from the European Union, with 50 participants, the American diplomat continued.
Hans Klemm said there are signs that the Romanian economy is growing healthily and reiterated that Romanian business people are expected to invest in the US, the largest and most competitive market in the world.
