A lorry loaded with ammonium nitrate overturned on DN 61 in Giurgiu County, triggering a risk of explosion, according to the Romanian Police's Infotrafic Centre.
"On DN 61 Ghimpati-Gaesti, at Crevedia Mare, Giurgiu County, a lorry loaded with ammonium nitrate caught fire while in motion, but its driver managed to extract himself. There is a danger of explosion, but there are no injured people," the Infotrafic Centre points out, Agerpres.ro informs.
Road traffic was closed both ways in order to secure the area and to allow emergency crews to respond.
