Romanian tennis player Ana Bogdan qualified on Thursday, without playing, for the quarterfinals of the WTA 125 tournament in Bari (Italy), which has total prize money of 100,000 euros, after her opponent in the round of 16, Polish player Maja Chwalinska, withdrew.
Chwalinska (23 years old, WTA No. 132) cited adductor muscle problems, according to the organisers.
Ana Bogdan (32 years old, WTA No. 173) has secured a check worth 3,478 euros and 27 WTA points
In the quarterfinals, the Romanian will face Kathinka von Deichmann from Liechtenstein (31 years old, WTA No. 169). In another quarterfinal match, Romanian Anca Todoni will face Belarusian Irina Shymanovich.
