Members of the "Muresul" National Union of the "Romanian Waters" National Administration (ANAR) protested for two hours on Friday in front of the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests (MMAP).

The action, scheduled between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, is part of the series of protests established at the level of the National Confederal Office (BNC) of the National Trade Union Bloc (BNS), started on Thursday, July 10, in front of the Ministry of Finance.

The BNS is going to launch, in the immediate future, the "Black Box of Austerity" campaign, through which it will publish on its social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube and LinkedIn) short video messages filmed by union members in which they will clearly show how they are affected by the Bologna Government's reforms.

On July 6, 2025, the NBS sent to all parliamentary political parties a series of amendments to the draft Law on Fiscal-Budgetary Measures, which aim to take concrete measures to reduce budgetary waste and strengthen fiscal responsibility.

The government has assumed responsibility in Parliament for a fiscal package that includes increasing VAT from 19% to 21%, increasing excise duties by 10%, and overtaxing banks, in an attempt to reduce the budget deficit from over 9.3% of GDP to 7.5% in 2025. The package also provides for spending cuts, such as a 40% reduction in party funding and limiting public sector bonuses, aiming for urgent budget consolidation.
