The Professional Association of Real Estate Agents in Romania (APAIR) expresses its concern about the fiscal impact on housing prices, considering that the increase in the VAT rate for new homes, included in the package of fiscal measures, deserves careful analysis, considering the direct effects on the residential market - both for buyers and developers.

"In a context where access to financing is already influenced by high interest rates and inflation, any change that affects the final price of housing can influence purchasing decisions, especially in the middle-class segment. It is important that these changes are accompanied by clear communication, predictability and support measures adapted to market realities. APAIR encourages a responsible and informed approach from all actors involved - authorities, developers, banking institutions and real estate consultants," the association said in a statement, sent to AGERPRES on Friday.

Functional markets are based on trust, and this trust is built through transparency and continuous dialogue, real estate agents say.

"We are concerned about this tax change, but we believe in the power of a balanced market, supported by clear information and professional advice. APAIR members are prepared to guide clients through these complex moments," said APAIR President Gabi Arteni, quoted in the press release.

APAIR reiterates the importance of balanced and strategic decisions that ensure the stability and accessibility of the Romanian real estate market, without compromising long-term development, and will continue to support consumers and professionals in the field, advocating for solutions with a sustainable impact on the Romanian real estate market.
