The Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture (APIA) has signed the financing contract for the project "Single Portal of Farmers Applying for Agricultural Support", a strategic digitalization initiative aimed at simplifying farmers' access to public services managed by the agency.

According to a press release from APIA, the project is financed through the Smart Growth, Digitalization and Financial Instruments Program 2021-2027 (PoCIDIF), Priority 2 - Digitalization of the central public administration and the business environment, and has a total eligible value, including VAT, of 93.583 million lei. Of this amount, 70.14 million lei represents non-reimbursable ERDF financing, and 23.443 million lei comes from the national budget, agerpres reports.

Implemented over a period of 3 years, the project aims at the digital transformation of the main public services offered by APIA, such as: administration and payment of support schemes for farmers; issuance of export-import licenses for agricultural products; management and payment of life annuities.

"The digital transformation of APIA services involves not only modernizing interaction with beneficiaries, but also increasing the institutional capacity to respond to their needs. The single portal will be interoperable with other public IT systems and will allow easy, fast and secure access to the necessary information and services, even for users with low digital skills.
At the same time, the project includes professional training components for APIA staff, to ensure the optimal operability of the new system," said APIA General Director, Gabriela Nicoleta Andrei, quoted in the press release.

The new platform will allow for a simplified relationship between the institution and beneficiaries, significantly reducing bureaucracy and the time needed to submit applications or obtain relevant documents, the cited source emphasizes.

"The digitalization of agricultural administration is a priority in my mandate, and this project is a concrete example of the direction we are heading: modern public services, oriented towards the citizen. Through this portal, farmers will have simplified access to all support schemes, without unnecessary roads, without bureaucracy. It is an important step towards building an efficient, transparent and rural-friendly administration", the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Florin-Ionut Barbu said.
