Villagers' haylofts, manor houses or the courtyards of wooden churches will become, for one evening, unique theatres, where the audience will be invited to sit on straw bales and enjoy the comedy "The Experiment", through "Art in the hearth of villages", a project co-funded by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund.
The project belongs to the non-profit association "Cultura'n Sura", whose main objective is to promote and develop artistic events in areas with limited access to culture.
According to the organizers, this year, the show "The Experiment" will be performed, between June 17 and 20, in several locations in Salaj, such as in Dragu, at the Bethlen Manor, Inau - in the courtyard of the wooden church, Notig - the wooden church and in Salatig - in the hayloft of Sandu Ilies.
The villages Cuciulat, Garceiu, Pausa and Brusturi are also on the route of the theater caravan.
The full program and locations can be found on www.culturansura.ro and www.facebook.com/culturansura.
Participation in the events is free of charge.
"'Cultura'n Sura' started 13 years ago in Hida, at the initiative of director Victor Olahut, with the endorsement of the Center for Culture and Art of the county, headed by poet and publicist Daniel Sauca. This year's theatrical performances will be held in picturesque alternative spaces, from haylofts and farmhouses to the proximity of heritage buildings restored by the Ambulance for Monuments. In addition, each performance will be preceded by a children's theatre workshop supported by actors from the project team. Theatre is not only a form of entertainment, but also a non-formal tool for education, social cohesion and community development," reads a press release from the organizers sent on Wednesday.
Project partners are the Center for Culture and Art of Salaj County and Arhaic Association.
