As many as 4,745,651 pensioners were registered in June 2024 in Romania, down 1,953 from the previous month, with the average state pension at RON 2,250, according to data with the National House of State Pensions (CNPP).
The total value of pension due amounted to RON 10.677 billion.
Of the total number of pensioners, 626,017 partially worked in agriculture, with the average pension standing at RON 635.
According to CNPP statistics, in the state pension system there were 3,811,057 people who retired upon reaching the retirement age, including 2,187,806 women, with an average pension of RON 2,508.
In June 2024, 4,655 people were drawing early retirement pensions (average at RON 3,152), 87,097 people partial early retirement pension (average at RON 2,295) and 392,470 people disability pension (average at RON 953), including 44,961 people on first degree disability pensions (average at RON 822).
In the same month, survivor's pensions were paid to 450,250 persons (average at RON 1,178), while 113 pensioners were drawing social security pensions (RON 539, on average).
