August 2018 unemployment in Romania increased by 0.1 percentage points to 4.3 percent on a monthly basis, with male unemployment on the increase, according to data with the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Monday.
According to INS, the male unemployment was 1.4 percentage points higher than female unemployment.
The estimated August 2018 number of unemployed aged 15 to 74 was 386,000, same as in the previous month, but less than in August 2017 (448,000 people).
By gender, male unemployment exceeded by 1.4 percentage points female unemployment, 4.9 percent to 3.5 percent.
Adult unemployment was estimated at 3.4 percent in August 2018, 4 percent for men and 2.7 percent for women, with the number of unemployed in this age bracket making up 75.2 percent of the total August 2018 estimated unemployed.
