Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (UBB) announces the conclusion of a strategic partnership with Palo Alto Networks, a world leader in cybersecurity, agerpres reports.

"Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca (UBB), through the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, is proud to announce the conclusion of a strategic partnership with Palo Alto Networks, a company recognized worldwide as a leader in cybersecurity. This collaboration will integrate the Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy's curriculum and cutting-edge programs into UBB's academic training activities, targeting both the undergraduate and master's programs in Cybersecurity at UBB," reads a press rlease issued on Friday by the university.

According to the cited source, in an ever-evolving digital landscape, marked by increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, there is a pressing need for education to keep up to date with the latest industry innovations.

Society is facing a "knowledge and awareness vacuum" of cybersecurity issues and an "acute shortage of specialists" in the field, both at the individual and organizational level. "Through this partnership, UBB and Palo Alto Networks are joining forces to help address this critical deficiency. The Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy's mission is to educate the workforce of the future and prepare students for successful careers in cybersecurity, meeting the needs of global customers," emphasizes UBB.

UBB students will have access to a turnkey curriculum developed by cybersecurity experts and threat intelligence from Palo Alto Networks. The program will also provide access to free hands-on labs, essential for gaining the real-world experience needed in the field. These labs are available 24/7 through a partnership with NDG. Students will work with Palo Alto Networks products, including virtual firewalls. Additionally, the academy's courses align with Palo Alto Networks professional certifications, giving students the opportunity to earn entry-level certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Apprentice and advanced certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Generalist.

"We are extremely excited about this strategic partnership with Palo Alto Networks. The integration of the Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Academy curriculum into our undergraduate programs, as well as into the Cybersecurity Master's program, will ensure that our students receive the most up-to-date and relevant education, equipping them with the practical skills needed to address the complex challenges of modern cybersecurity and to meet the acute demand for industry specialists," the interim Rector of UBB, Professor Adrian Petrusel was quoted as saying in the press release.
