The school program continues, with a budget increased to 798 million RON, the Minister of Agriculture, Florin Barbu, announced on Thursday.
"Today, in the Government, we approved the continuation of the European Union School Programme for the period 2023-2029, as well as the budget for the 2025-2026 school year. The funds will ensure the daily distribution of fruits and vegetables, milk and dairy products, as well as bakery products for over 1.8 million preschoolers and students," Barbu wrote on his Facebook page.
He stressed that European funds are used to ensure "healthy nutrition for our children", but also to support local producers "by distributing the products they obtain".
