The 11th edition of the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival (BIDFF), an event dedicated to dance film, will take place from Thursday to Sunday in the capital, the organizers announce in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.

This year's edition, themed "Keep Calm and Keep on Moving," brings together more than 20 events over four days of cultural experiences, including feature film screenings, an international competition, performances, VR installations, masterclasses, and meetings with artists at key locations in Bucharest (Cinema Elvire Popesco, Gradina cu Filme - Cinema & More, National Dance Center Bucharest /SAC @ MALMAISON, and Masca Theatre).

Among the festival's "highlight" films are Night Stage (dir. Filipe Matzembacher, Marcio Reolon), which will have its Romanian premiere, and Rains Over Babel (dir. Gala del Sol), which premiered at Sundance.

The competition section remains the heart of the festival, offering the audience the opportunity to discover new voices in dance film and engage directly with the creators. This year, 27 films from 20 countries are featured, grouped into four screening blocks, each with a distinct artistic direction: Bodies in Transit, Thursday, September 11, 9:00 p.m., at Gradina cu Filme - Cinema & More; Motion Signals, Friday, September 12, 6:00 p.m., at Cinema Elvire Popesco; Identity Shakeoffs, Friday, September 12, 9:00 p.m., at Gradina cu Filme - Cinema & More; and Against Stilness, Saturday, September 13, 6:00 p.m., at Cinema Elvire Popesco.

The program also includes the event "Dance and Film Today - Perspectives, Challenges, and Collaborative Connections," a debate bringing together artists, theorists, and filmmakers. The discussion will take place on Friday, September 12, at 3:00 p.m. at the National Dance Center Bucharest. Admission is free.

The full program is available at www.bidff.ro, and tickets can be purchased via Eventbook.ro and CNDB.ro.

A cultural project co-financed by the Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN), the Bucharest International Dance Film Festival (BIDFF) is organized by Tangaj Collective Association. The 11th edition is co-financed by the Bucharest City Hall through ARCUB as part of the 2025 "Bucharest. Together" Program
