The National Bank of Romania (BNR) will put into circulation, as of 13 October, for numismatic purposes, a silver coin to mark 145 years since the birth of Constantin Tanase, the bank informs in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Friday.
The obverse of the coin represents a composition displaying a hemicyclic summer theatre, a parchment with some poem lines by George Ranetti, the inscription 'ROMANIA' in an arc, the face value '10 LEI', the coat of arms of Romania and the year of issue '2025'. The reverse depicts the portrait and the name of Constantin Tanase, as well as his birth and death years '1880' and '1945'.
The silver coins are housed in transparent plastic capsules and are accompanied by booklets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue and certificates of authenticity in Romanian, English and French. The certificates of authenticity bear the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania, the release also reads.
According to BNR, the maximum mintage is 5,000 silver coins.
The selling price for the silver coin, including the booklet and the certificate of authenticity, is lei 620.00, VAT excluded.
The silver coins to mark 145 years since the birth of Constantin Tanase are legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The coins are put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanta, Craiova, Iasi and Timisoara.
