A bronze statuette by Emile - Antoine Bourdelle, valued at approximately 15,000 euros, which was stolen from France in 2018, has been discovered in Romania, the Romanian General Police Inspectorate (IGPR) reports on Friday.
According to a press release from the IGPR sent to AGERPRES on Thursday, police officers from the Criminal Investigations Directorate, based on the information obtained and the investigations carried out, filed an ex officio complaint regarding the commission of the crime of concealment regarding a cultural asset stolen from the territory of France in 2018, the file being registered with the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Constanta Tribunal.
"The police went to the municipality of Constanta and caught a woman red-handed, who allegedly owned and intended to sell a bronze statuette, signed by Emile - Antoine Bourdelle, entitled 'Peasant with Child in Her Arms,' valued at approximately 15,000 euros. The cultural asset was seized, in order to continue the investigation," the press release states.
