BSOG Energy, an energy company owned by Black Sea Oil & Gas specialising in the development of biogas production projects in Romania, and Unigrains Trading, a company managing about 3,300 hectares of cereal farmland in Constanta County, have signed a cooperation agreement for a combined biogas and organic fertiliser production unit.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Monday, the project will produce 57 MW of biogas and over 250,000 tonnes of organic fertiliser per year.

Under the cooperation agreement, Unigrains will supply the raw material of unprocessed waste for the production unit and will also own and manage the rights to the resulting fertilisers on wholesale and retail markets. BSOG Energy will be responsible for building, owning and operating the project and will manage the production of biogas.

The total investment is estimated to exceed 65 million euros, with the project execution expected to take about 2 years.
