Over 500 health experts, researchers, academics, decision-makers, as well as representatives of civil society and related industries will participate on October 9 and 10, at the Palace of Parliament, in the 8th edition of the Stress Congress, an event organized by the Ana Aslan International Foundation, with the theme "Stress, Mental Health and Longevity".
According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Monday, participants will analyze the impact of chronic stress on mental, neurocognitive and cardiovascular health, as well as its connection with the accelerated aging process.
"Longevity is not just a matter of biology, but also of psychology. Mental health is the foundation of an active, long and balanced life. Chronic stress is a major risk factor, too often neglected, that affects not only the quality of life, but also life expectancy," said Luiza Spiru, president of the Ana Aslan International Foundation, the initiator of the event.
During the two days, scientific sessions, interdisciplinary debates and case study presentations will be organized, addressing topics such as the neurobiology of stress and the risk of dementia; burnout in the medical and educational professions; the emotional health of young and elderly people; innovative therapies for the prevention of neurodegenerative diseases; models of community intervention to promote active longevity.
The event is part of the series of international initiatives carried out by the Ana Aslan International Foundation and is held in partnership with academic institutions and organizations from over 15 European and Asian countries.
The event is organized under the aegis of the "Dr. Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, accredited by the College of Physicians of Romania and the Order of Nurses, Midwives and Medical Assistants of Romania.
