The particle concentrations recorded by stations in Bucharest and Ilfov have been within normal limits since 6:00 a.m., with the highest exceeding values recorded on Tuesday, around 11:00 p.m., on Basarabia Boulevard, when PM10 levels were exceeded sevenfold as a result of the fire in Sector 2, Director of the Bucharest Environmental Directorate Simona Aldea told AGERPRES on Wednesday.

'At the moment, at the stations in the national monitoring network, the stations located in Bucharest and Ilfov County, there are no more exceeding values. The values are within normal limits. We are preparing a trend report from the stations, which we will publish, starting from 9:00 p.m. yesterday, after the fire began, until this morning. As of 6:00 a.m., there have been no more excess values. Yesterday evening, exceeding values were recorded at stations located relatively nearby. At the station on Basarabia Boulevard, near the Trade Register, the PM10 value was exceeded by seven times - the limit is 50, and we recorded a value of 350, around 11:00 p.m. This was the highest recorded level during the fire,' said Simona Aldea.

She also noted that a report will be published showing the evolution of daily averages, with the previously mentioned values being momentary. According to legislation, a daily average is calculated, which must not exceed 50 micrograms, the director of the Bucharest Environmental Directorate explained.

The Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests announced on Tuesday evening that the massive smoke emissions from the fire in Sector 2 were affecting the entire Capital, with significant exceeding values in particle concentrations being recorded. At monitoring station B16 - Bd. Basarabia, values more than seven times above the legal limit were reached.

According to the same source, due to the north-easterly wind, the smoke cloud drifted westward, spreading beyond Sectors 2, 3, 4 and 5, and also having affected Sectors 1 and 6.

A fire broke out on Tuesday evening at a warehouse in Sector 2 of the Capital - on Pantelimon Road - with large smoke emissions in the area.
